Arriving on earth in 1981 was magnificent because the world was on the dawn of technological advancements that would obselete one another in time frames that would supersede any era in history.
When my brothers would blow into this gray opaque cartridge with a picture of a funny looking italian man on the front, then and pop it into the mouth of this other more weirder looking device I didn’t quite get it. When the result of that was being zapped into this world on the screen where the crusade for gold coins, the rescue of a princess who got kidnapped way too many times, and the defeat of King Kupa who seemed to be immune of the pit of fire you would throw him into repeatedly, I knew at that moment that I was apart of something freakin’ awesome.
Super Mario Brothers was released in September 1985. It is held as the second most sold video game of all time, with Super Mario Brothers 3 being the first.
