Like a stepchild waiting to see which parents the court will grant custody to. American Idol fans have been ingrained in the tug of war of rumors and buzz about who will be at the judges table this season.
According to Fox News it’s finally in black and white, and the ink has dried on the dotted
line. Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban will join Mariah Carey, and Randy Jackson on the mission of finding America’s next slice of music pie.
Ok now lets talk. This really looks like a bite off of X-Factors format. Two women, two men. Of the female artist judges, one veteran female music artist, and one much younger female music artist. According to X-Factors season 2 premiere week numbers, the formula, didn’t work so well. They relied on the star power of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, and it didn’t deliver, in debut week. So the cats on Idol have to notice that, and be worried that their formula may not work as well.
Telling by the promo picture above, they’ve worked out their seating arrangements. You know Mariah was like, I am NOT sitting next to Nicki Minaj….lol. We also see that they have toned down Nicki’s wardrobe. That’s the most normal I’ve seen her in while, and I do like it (She was lookin’ like a struck match on the MTV Awards). Mariah looks good, but a little nervous in the picture. She looks like the smile smile was forced, you know? Keith Urban is as American as apple pie, they definitely was on the money with choosing him and not alienating their “middle America” audience.
Will Mariah get a rookie stylist like Brittney has on XF (Forever 21 is the name of the store it don’t mean you can “forever” wear cloths from there, Brittney’s stylists are doing her so wrong right now!). I just hope by beloved song bird Mariah isn’t being dragged into some sideshow Nelson ratings circus, or I will have to send an extensive email to related parties responsible.
What I look forward to most on Idol is Randy Jacksons “catch phrases”. Over the years he has given us so many. From “slayed it” to “Yo”, to “in it to win it”, I’m glad he is still a judge. Although he’s not the most flamboyant, I DO believe he is the anchor of the show, and it all would be lost without him.
It’s my bedtime now, I just wanted to talk to ya’ll about this. I’m really glad that this crappy media PR buzz campaign bs is over with AI.
What do you think about this judge panel mix? On the right track? Or recipe for Cancellation? Let’s continue this convo below in the comments!
