On the second episode Breaking Amish the gang gets to New York City and take it all in.
As the Amish and one Mennonite all come together for the first time they waste no time to size each other up.
We quickly see that clicks, and cattiness are not just relative to the “English” as the group quickly show their true colors. Abe identifies the women he’s seen in the city as “skanks” (somebodies been watching Jersey Shore). Jermiah wants to get his party on, is on pu##y-watch, and it looks like he’s going to be the Situation of this situation. Jeremiah is hilarious, and he has the brightest personality in the bunch.
The room where the three girls are staying only has two beds. Kate is open to the idea of sharing a bed, and Rebecca has a mini cow, and immediately makes preparations to get another bed into the hotel room. Rebecca and Sabrina get to sleep in nice beds, and Kate gets a fold out in the corner (that was messed up). From the looks of things, Rebecca is probably going to be the queen b of the group. She got kind of irritating. Though being the youngest of the group, Rebecca acts like a senior citizen.
Now for the buzz of Rebecca and her not having teeth. What looked like a scene from mean girls, Sabrina and Kate wake up
in the wee hours of the morning to go investigate Rebecca’s false teeth. They joke, poke and prod at her denchers that she keeps in her covering. They didn’t get why she didn’t have teeth at such a young age, but I supposed they may address that later.
Rebecca and Abe are going to smush. They already have this pseudo-relational dynamic going on.
That was sad to see, and it wasn’t exactly WWJD. Rebecca hasn’t been the most welcoming, and is a ‘hater’ because she isn’t 21 and can’t drink, but what Kate and Sabrina did was a bit bullyish.
This show is VERY interesting. Taking Amish and Mennonite people and filminig them as they take a bite out of the “big apple” is genius tv!
