Opinions That Make You Go Hummm: Spike Lee On ‘Django Unchained’

I like Spike Lee as a filmmaker, but his petty ‘issues’ films now-a-days are making him look kinda like, umm, a hater.
Spike Lee’s latest film beff is with Quentin Tarantino’s new flick, Django Unchained. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson, follows Jamie Foxx as a freed slave who works with a bounty hunter to fight the slave owners who captured his wife.
The movie opened on yesterday, and has received rave reviews. Spike Lee however deems the movie insulting to his ancestors, and accuses the iconic filmmaker Tarantino of inappropriately dramatizing slavery in America. Lee has publicly expressed via Twitter and other avenues that he will not be seeing the movie.
Lee is making a whole lot of assumptions about a movie he hasn’t seen which makes no sense, and makes him look like a complete hater.
What WAS offensive was BET’s ROOTS marathon over the days leading up to Christmas, but Spike Lee don’t have nothing to say about that does he. All I’m saying is if you gone be offended, please let it be relevant, and on something you HAVE seen. Put down the Hater-ade Spike, wooooooosah……it’s ok.
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I will in the next coming days. The movie had me at the star list. On top of that the story is intriquing. A slave, turned bounty hunter, to go rescue his wife from another plantation, uhhh, yeaah, that’s a damn good plot!
So Spike stop hatin’, it’s not a good look for you.

Swedish House Music Mafia is made up of a trio of house music DJ’s and producers, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. The lifespan of this group is rather short. In 2008 the supergroup formed, then this past March, they announced on their website that the 2012 tour would be their last. Now if house music operates anything like Hip-Hop, then theres no worry when a group touts about ‘retirement’ because we know that’s just hardly ever the case. Jay-Z has threatend his last album 4 albums ago, and 50 Cent retired two years ago, and now is back again. So when artist say that this is their last this or that…I take it pretty light heartedly.

Skyfall was a great movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve never really payed attention to the title track to a Bond flick until Adele blew this one out of the park. Would we expect anything less from such an a talented singer/songwriter? I think not.
